In her dreams, Vasanthavalli finds herself in the sanctum sanctorum, where she sees the picture of Kutralanathar in his full-fledged avatar. After seeing this picture, she embraces and kisses the picture as if it is Kutralanathar himself. She experiences tremendous ecstasy from this kiss. Suddenly, she wakes up to find the same picture in the Picture House.
She tells everyone about her dream. The people believe her and blithely humbug her as she has come down from the clouds. But she persists in telling her dream to her father who is a no-nonsense person. Her father, however, ridicules her and says that the picture will not be changed unless she gets her dream fulfilled. She, therefore decides to undertake a pilgrimage to Pithukkattupadai in order to find out Kutralanathar and her love for him. She goes to Kutralanathar's birthplace along with her younger brother and her best friend to support her plan.
On the second day, she reaches the village, and is the first person who reaches there. Her friends have plans to visit a temple in the village. Her friend leaves and she is falling asleep. Suddenly, she wakes up and rushes to the Thirukutrala Nagar temple, where she finds that she is in the picture hall.
She is taken aback. She tries to leave the place and people come and stop her from leaving. They ask who she is. She tells them that Kutralanathar is her lover who has come down from the clouds. The villagers believe her and take her to her lover's house, where the picture is seen in the house.
Kutralanathar has a high reputation in Madurai. Even though he has been out of the temple for a long time, still people talk about him. He is ready to marry Vasanthavalli. But he is turned down by the people of the village. d2c66b5586
