Episode 1 is about 20 seconds into the show when Leonard is checking the numbers on his watch. It's the first of two episodes that takes place on a Wednesday, which episodes get the 1080p treatment. The episode is around 30 minutes long.
The banner at the top of the page says "Episode 1 | season 5 | season 1." Like the episode name, the quality is dated to June 15, 2013. On June 15, the syncing protocols were changed to support the new Apple WG2 technology. Since the episode had not yet been released, the 1080p version is only available to HD subscribers. However, when the episode was released, some subscribers were quick to transfer their old 1080p downloads, probably because it was the same file size as the SD version. The episode now shows up at 1080p even for non-HD subscribers. The new episode doesn't get a banner indicating that the file size is larger, but 1080p will still download quicker, if that's important to you. In fact, the first episode of the season only requires around 25 minutes to download.
The details on the banner for this second episode are similar to the ones above for the first episode, but the summary is different. For "Awake," it says that "The first episode in the second season of this hit series". It does say that it's "Also available at 1080p" however, you'll need an HD subscription. In addition, "Awake" is not only the season 2 premiere in 1080p, but it's also the first episode available in 4K. It's in the iTunes Store along with the season 1 download, so you can see the difference in the banner for "Awake" versus the one for "The Big Bang Theory - season 2, episode 1 (2013)."
Since the episode has been released, both 720p and 1080p are available for stream, although the clip is rather short at only 7.2 seconds. The episode is one of the few that is available in 4K, and has been for some time. It's a short clip, but a good way to get an early glimpse of the new technology. d2c66b5586
